VOORHEES, NJ - Well, it's do or die time for our Flyboys tonight. I wanted to touch on a couple things and I'd love to hear your feedback on it. I have to say all year long the two things I've been frustrated with both deal with inconsistency. 1.) Inconsistency on defense. 2.) Inconsistency on offense. While the Flyers outshot the Penguins 46-26 in Game 4 I felt that while Marc-Andre Fleury was spectacular, the Flyers still didn't get many quality chances. It's frustrating because it seems like every other game this happens, and a lot of it fal

TORONTO - It appears that a weight has been lifted from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

One of Brian Burke's first acts as president and general manager was to address the players in the dressing room before Saturday's game. The theme of his message was that everyone should relax and the Maple Leafs responded with one of their strongest efforts of the season in a 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Vesa Toskala made 28 saves while Dominic Moore and Nik Antropov each had a goal and an assist as Toronto won for the first

PHILADELPHIA - Sergei Samsonov scored at 3:53 of overtime and the Carolina Hurricanes snapped the Philadelphia Flyers' six-game winning streak 3-2 Friday.

Samsonov skated in to the goal-mouth and put a forehand shot past goaltender Martin Biron's glove side as the Hurricanes ended their three-game slide.

The Flyers, who won seven of their previous eight, were denied their longest winning streak since they won eight straight in 1999-2000.

Patrick Dwyer and Tuomo Ruutu also scored for the Hurricanes. Joffrey

RALEIGH, N.C. - An exhausted Matt Carle headed for Philadelphia's bench, but none of his teammates noticed. So he stayed on the ice and wound up scoring the goal that gave his team to its longest winning streak in years.

Philadelphia won its sixth straight Wednesday night, beating the slumping Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 behind two goals and an assist from Simon Gagne.

Carle scored the go-ahead goal with just under 18 minutes left, and it propelled the Flyers to their first six-game winning streak since Oct. 30-Nov. 12, 20

PHILADELPHIA - Mike Knuble scored two goals, including the tiebreaker at 14:52 of the third period, and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Dallas Stars 4-3 Monday night for their fifth straight victory.

Simon Gagne set up the go-ahead goal by stealing the puck at the blue-line and passing it to Mike Richards, who fed Knuble in the slot for a one-timer.

Scottie Upshall and Jeff Carter also scored for the Flyers, who have won six of seven. Gagne extended his points streak to eight games (three goals, eight assists) with a
