So it's 7 days past the free agent frenzy and Montreal has been turned upside down. CJAD wouldn't stop talking about the prospect of getting Vincent Lecavalier into town before his no-trade kicks in, and there where more then enough rumors to throw around and feed the hockey-fueled city. We had rumors of Hossa and Gaborik and everything in between Canada and Russia.

New York was last in action on Thursday, when it posted a 3-2 win over Atlanta. The victory was the Rangers' 10th of the season in 13 games and gave them a league-best 21 points (10-2-1).

The Rangers' run to open the year eclipsed the franchise's previous best start, done by the 1983-84 team that went 9-4-0 to start that season. After posting its ninth wi

General managers will have one extra day to make NHL trades. The league said yesterday it has pushed the trade deadline back to March 4. A high volume of games forced the switch. There are 12 games on the schedule March 3 and only two March 4. The league and NHL Players' Association agreed on the change.
